Tuesday, Oct. 20
5:30 p.m.
A university staff member reported he left his cell phone charging in a classroom in Shillman Hall from 5 p.m. to 5:15 p.m., and found it missing when he returned to retrieve it.

9 p.m.

A student called Northeastern University Division of Public Safety (NUPD) to report the previous evening, while making an online purchase in the Cyber Café at International Village, she left her credit card under a keyboard and could not find it when she returned the next morning. The card had been used five times at businesses near campus for a total of $250. NUPD is investigating the theft.

Wednesday, Oct. 21
7 p.m.
A Resident Assistant (RA) in Smith Hall called NUPD after smelling the odor of marijuana coming from a room on the first floor. Officers responded and spoke to an 18-year-old resident, a 19-year-old resident and an 18-year-old student guest, who all denied the strong odor in the room. Eventually, the three males admitted to smoking and officers confiscated a small amount of marijuana, a vaporizer, a bong, pipes and other paraphernalia. All three students will be reported to the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (OSCCR).

8 p.m.
A student called NUPD to report he felt verbally threatened after having an argument with his roommate. The caller was temporarily relocated while officers interviewed the roommate, who acknowledged the argument and will be reported to OSCCR.


8:15 p.m.
A student reported she left her cell phone in a first floor restroom at Stetson West at noon, and when she returned 15 minutes later, it was gone.

10:15 p.m.
A student reported she left her wallet in a restroom on the second floor of Ryder Hall at 6 p.m. and the wallet was gone when she returned at 8 p.m. The wallet contained $150, a credit card and the caller’s license.

11:30 p.m.
The manager of Wollaston’s at the Marino Center called NUPD to report he was detaining a shoplifter. The suspect, a Wentworth student, was seen opening a package of Visine eye drops and placing the bottle in his pocket. At the register the suspect paid for only a bag of chips. The male eventually admitted to having the Visine in his pocket and the manager of Wollaston’s chose not to file criminal charges. The Wentworth student will be reported to his school’s disciplinary body and has been banned from Northeastern’s campus.

Thursday, Oct. 22
11:30 a.m.
A student was walking outside Snell Library when he saw two of his acquaintances, who have no affiliation to the university. As their paths crossed, one of the males threatened the caller with a folding knife while the other threatened him with a corkscrew on a multi-tool. NUPD officers responded and found the two suspects in the Curry Student Center waiting in line to buy lunch. NUPD questioned them and arrested Felix Garcia and Eric Ortiz, both 17 of Boston, for assault with a dangerous weapon. Officers confiscated the weapons and both suspects have been banned from campus.

10 p.m.
A food service employee was walking outside Snell Library when she encountered four young women, one of whom was an acquaintance from high school. The caller reported the four women grabbed her purse, punched her in the eye and ran off. The purse contained her wallet, ATM card and cell phone. NUPD is working with the Boston Police Department (BPD) to investigate.

11:45 p.m.
NUPD was called to the third floor of Light Hall by an RA who reported an 18-year-old student locked herself in the bathroom. Officers got the door open and found the student passed out from intoxication on the floor while the toilet overflowed. She was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center by ambulance and will be reported to OSCCR.

Friday, Oct. 23
2 a.m.
An RA from Speare Hall found an 18-year-old female student vomiting form intoxication in the men’s bathroom and called NUPD. Officers evaluated the student and determined  she did not need medical attention. She will be reported to OSCCR.

10 a.m.
An NUPD detective arrested 18-year-old Maxwell Geist, a student, on a warrant from Hudson as part of an investigation into several vehicle break-ins in Hudson over the summer.

6:30 p.m.
An officer on patrol in Snell Library encountered two men who gave library staff a hard time about needing ID to sign into the library. The officer recognized one man as someone who had previously been banned from campus. NUPD arrested the man, 22-year-old Preston Britton, on an outstanding warrant issued by BPD. Both men have been banned from campus.

9 p.m.
NUPD detectives went to Kerr Hall to speak with two students as part of an investigation of drugs in university residence halls. While interviewing the students, detectives confiscated about six beers, marijuana and a variety of prescription pills that were not prescribed to to any of the students. The students will be reported to OSCCR for possession of Class A, B, C and D drugs and NUPD plans to continue the investigation.

Saturday, Oct. 24
12:30 a.m.
A proctor at 319 Huntington Ave. called NUPD to report a small group of students helped a heavily intoxicated resident into his room and then left. An RA knocked on the door and got no response, so officers entered the room and found a 19-year-old male student passed out alone in the room. He was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center by ambulance and will be reported to OSCCR. NUPD plans to speak with the people who left him alone in that condition.

2 a.m.
An RA in West Village A found a 19-year-old female student passed out in the hallway with vomit on her clothes. Officers evaluated the female and determined she was sober enough to stay home and did not need medical attention. She will, however, be reported to OSCCR.

2:45 a.m.
A student called NUPD to report an 18-year-old student vomiting in the first floor men’s room in Smith Hall. The female was intoxicated from drinking vodka but did not need medical attention. She will be reported to OSCCR.

3 a.m.
Officers responded to a call from Smith Hall regarding an 18-year-old student vomiting in the bathroom. She was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center by ambulance and will be reported to OSCCR.


Monday, Oct. 26
11:30 a.m.
An RA from West Village A reported that while conducting pre-announced room inspections, she found a marijuana pipe on a table in the room of two 21-year-old students. The students will be reported to OSCCR.

2 p.m.
An RA from West Village G reported that while conducting pre-announced room inspections, she found a marijuana pipe on a table in the room of a 19-year-old female. The student will be reported to OSCCR.

9:30 p.m.
Dedham police called to report they had arrested a youth in a shopping mall who had a stolen wallet with an NU ID in it on him. The ID and wallet was returned to its owner.
