Few details known in death of student

Matthew Cooper, a senior economics major at Northeastern, died Saturday, March 29, in Boston. He was 23.
Cooper, originally from Cleveland, N.Y., was scheduled to graduate in May. The News was unable to determine the cause of his death as of press time.
In a letter to the Northeastern community posted on the myNEU portal, President Joseph Aoun shared news of Cooper's death with "great sadness."
"Our sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to his parents, Joelle and Joe, his other family members and his wide circle of friends at this very difficult time," he said.
Cooper's death comes nearly a year after two Northeastern students died in one weekend. A.J. Devino, a freshman communications major died in a snowtubing accident March 31, 2007; and middler business Jake Freeman died April 1, 2007, in a fall at Our House East.
Cooper graduated from P. V. Moore High School in Central Square, N.Y., where he participated in student government, according to the Syracuse Post-Standard. In Boston, he worked at Artu's Restaurant in the North End.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m., April 3, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cleveland, N.Y. A separate memorial for Cooper will take place April 5 at St. Leonard Church on Hanover Street in the North End.
