After more than 80 years of chronicling student life at Northeastern, The News will begin publishing twice a week starting this fall.

By replacing its traditional mid-week production schedule and instead hitting newstands on Mondays and Thursdays, the paper will be able to provide fresher, more community-driven and entertainment-oriented reporting.

To help with the transition, The News has added two new positions to its masthead, including a deputy managing editor and a city editor who will be responsible for coordinating reporting of student-related topics from the surrounding neighborhoods, like The Fenway, Mission Hill and South End.

The News, which boasts a staff of more than 50 students who regularly participate in its production, has discussed the move since March.

The paper will continue to be published every other Wednesday during the summer semester.

So if the Northeastern News is going to publish twice a week
Student Government better get on the ball.....the news will
need a lot of resignations to write about. (Continued…)
