Men's Track & Field: Huskies continue season with IC4A meet at Princeton

With conference championships behind them, the top athletes on the Northeastern men's track team look ahead to the regional championship season. The next stop: Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America (IC4A) Championships May 11 to 13 at Princeton.
"The meet this weekend will tell the story on where we are at and what we have to do to get ready for (NCAA East) regionals," head coach Sherman Hart said. "We're a little bit banged up, but other than that we're fine. Jack (Sherman) and Jonathan (Hall) are still hurting, but we are trying to get them back for IC4A's."
Junior thrower Bamidele Faboyede, sophomore thrower Nate Hunter, senior thrower Semiu Alli, freshman jumper Adrian Li, freshman vaulter Jordan Thull, senior sprinter Conrad Dalton and the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams are all qualified for the IC4A meet, which will feature about 80 teams from the Northeast.
While the 4x100 and 4x400 look to be on the shelf due to injuries, the Huskies hope to score points in field events. Hart projected a "top 12" finish for the men.
Northeastern athletes who did not yet qualify for NCAA East regionals will appear at New England Outdoor Track & Field Championship May 10 to 12 in Hanover, N.H. Senior sprinter Christian Tirella will participate at the meet and is expected to hit the mark for NCAA's.
"We are just going to use this meet as a tune up, try to get things right for regionals. We really haven't competed in awhile," Hart said. "We have to get back in rhythm. Hopefully we go out and do well. I expect the guys to do well but they haven't really done anything since CAA championships."
The team has only competed once in a non-scoring meet at Brown since finishing fourth at the conference championships Saturday.
The throwers dominated the CAA meet, with Hunter taking home titles in the shot put and discus for the second year in a row and Faboyede triumphing in the hammer throw.
